1960 Watkins Rapier 33, Trans Wine Red SOLD

This early Watkins Rapier 33 is from my own collection and I bought it from the original owner. It is finished in original and very lovely see-through Wine Red, the more unusual colour for this model. It carries the very early serial number of 190 and is the earlier set-neck version. Three early-pattern pick-ups with volume and tone controls and the usual 'Pifco hairdryer' switch as well as the three-way selector switch. The neck is lovely and the machine heads are perfect. I have carefully disassembled and verified this guitar: everything about it is original and unmodified. All the chrome hardware is in fine condition and the tremolo arm is present and fits perfectly. With original period hard case in very fine condition. Also comes with original lead and an origjnal Cathedral spare string in its packet (remember Cathedral strings?). Apart from a few small time-related nicks and scratches this lovely 56 year-old Rapier 33 is in fine original condition and will make a terrific addition to any collection as well as playing flawlessly. A real opportunity! SOLD
