1975 CF Martin OOO-18, Natural SOLD

Mature, honey-coloured Sitka Spruce top with nicely grained Mahogany back and sides. Black body binding and back strip. Rosewood bridge. Black and white rosette rings. Mahogany neck with Rosewood fingerboard featuring pearl marker dots. 14 frets to the body and 24.9" scale length. Chrome plated enclosed Grover tuners on Rosewood headplate. There are two tiny filled holes in the headstock and two in the bridge. These are a mystery but not sinister; just part of the rich pattern of life this guitar has seen in its 39 years! With hard case. This guitar is one of those which blow the ridiculous myth, that there is no such thing as a good seventies Martin, straight out of the water! Plus, my first ever Martin was a 1975 OOO-18 and I kept it for thirty years! A beautifully matured OOO-18, this guitar has exactly that defined and sustained sound expected from an example of this model with some playing years under its belt. I must call Martin Carthy......  SOLD
