1960 Watkins Rapier 33, Trans Wine Red SOLD

The familiar Watkins body style is beautifully finished in unusual, but original, transluscent wine red. The finish is slightly marked and crazed but is still very attractive. The set-neck is in natural finish with a Rosewood fingerboard carrying original frets which are in outstandingly good condition. The tuners are in perfect working order. White scratchplate carrying three Watkins early style pick-ups. Two tone controls, one volume control, pick-ups on/off switch and rhythm/solo switch. Original Watkins tremolo with the original arm. This is the earliest style of tremolo without the Hi-Lo logo plate fixed into it. Original chrome Watkins bridge. The chrome on this guitar is near-perfect and it is an early, low serial number, example with no transfer on the headstock. This Rapier 33 was a one owner from new example until I added it to my collection. The Wine red finish is original and most unusual. Lovely! SOLD
