1962 Fender Stratocaster, Sonic Blue SOLD

I have disassembled and verified this Stratocaster myself because I have owned it for a number of years. Neck date is October 1962 and the pots and pick-ups are correctly coded for 1962. It is all-original apart from the body refinish. Lovely light weight body which was refinished into Fiesta Red in the 1980s and again recently into a beautiful hue of Sonic Blue. It was originally Lake Placid Blue. Maple neck with 'veneer' style Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. Clay dot markers. Original Fender 'Pat Pend' saddles on original tremolo bridge with the chrome cover and trem arm. Original single-line Kluson Deluxe tuners. Original pick-ups with one volume and two tone controls. Original three way selector switch. All wiring and pots are original. The original three-ply scratchplate is now a wonderful light green colour through its natural ageing and has shrink cracks around the screws as is expected from scratchplates of this period. With gorgeous original Selmer crocodile skin hard case which is right for an original English market Stratocaster. The tone of this Strat is simply out of this world. It sounds exactly as an early 60s Strat should; a beautifully mellow neck pick-up, a rich middle pick-up and a sensationally incisive bridge pick-up. Everything from Buddy Holly through Hank Marvin to Mark Knopfler is available, assuming you have the fingers for it! Exactly right! Viewing by appointment only, please. SOLD
