1958 Watkins Rapier Vibra, Wine Red SOLD

This is a remarkable piece of British guitar history. The early Watkins Rapier with tremolo was also known as the Vibra and was a different shape to that which we now associate with the Watkins Rapier. This 55 year-old example was a one owner guitar until it came into my possession just a few years ago. It has the usual Watkins Rapier 22 appointments such as the two chrome-covered pick-ups, two selector switches, three tone controls and the early Vibra tremolo bridge. Everything wotks beautifully including the original machine heads. The serial number 29 indicates that this is a very early Watkins indeed. This delightful guitar even comes with its original gig bag which is also in very good condition. Just think; this guitar was made in the same year that Buddy Holly toured Great Britain. SOLD
